in Stark County

Classic family amusement parks, fun waterpark attractions, and outdoor recreation provide visitors many activities to consider while visiting Canton and Stark County, Ohio.

The warm weather throughout the summer and fall seasons in Ohio are prime for enjoying things to do outside and seasonal amusement parks. At Funtimes Fun Park in Alliance among the many activities to consider are putt-putt, batting cages, go-karts, amusement rides, and their Splash Waterpark inflatable water slides and attractions. In the Hartville area visit Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Akron-Canton™ where ways to play include gem mining, mini golf, and Clearwater Park – Swimming Pool.

For a thrilling waterpark experience head to Clay’s Park Adventure Water Park with dual 150-ft. water chutes, zip lines, and more. Day passes are available at the campground resort. The Ohio & Erie Canalway Towpath Trail crosses through the nearby city of Canal Fulton, an original canal town in the National Heritage Area. The area offers great options for canoe, kayak, and bike rentals. Sluggers & Putters is also nearby and offers family amusements and arcade games.

Rack It Up is another arcade option to keep in mind for rainy day fun. It is full of classic arcade games, pinball machines, and pool tables and located in Canton just a short drive from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. At The Circle VR, Canton’s only virtual reality arcade, don’t just escape the rain.  Slip on a VR headset and escape from reality with a choice of over 60 games in simulated 3-D environments.

There are more waterparks, lakes, and marinas in the area as well. Baylor Beach Waterpark and Campground is in Navarre on the edge of Amish Country. They offer a 2-acre waterpark, swimming lake and a separate lake for aqua-bikes and fun-yaks as well as picnic pavilions and other seasonal, outdoor sports and activities.

The Stark Parks marinas are also great options for watercraft rentals in the summer. Canoes, single-person kayaks, tandem kayaks, row boats, motor boats, stand-up paddle boards, and pedal boats are all part of the marina’s livery at Sippo Lake Park in Canton, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Many watercraft are also available for rentals from the Walborn Reservoir marina in Alliance. It encompasses 2,448 acres including trails through brush lands and forests with shoreline views of eagles, ospreys, and migratory birds. Head roughly 30-miles south of Canton to Atwood Lake or 20-miles north of Canton to Portage Lakes State Park for beaches and watersports.
